Odean Lowery

Odean Lowery  77, of Beech Grove, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro.  Odean Lowery was born August 11, 1939 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Earl and Lona Knox Lowery and was married to the former Anita Sue Howard August 11, 1960.  Odean retired as a crew foreman from the St. Louis Water Department in Missouri, was a member of Beulah General Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.  He enjoyed camping, boating, and playing the guitar.  In addition to his parents, Odean was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anita Howard Lowery, who died January 5, 2014. 

          Survivors include a sister, Noretta Thompson of Owensboro and ten nieces and nephews, Sharon Mills, Vaughn Matthews, Shane Thompson, Jason Matthews, Shannon Thompson Robbins, Stacy Head, Charlie Howard, Samuel Underwood, Cammie Underwood, and Wil Underwood.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Ron Hampton officiating.  Burial will be in the Boston Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 5415.  Friends may visit with Odean’s family from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Odean Lowery family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Boston Cemetery Fund; C/O Tina Underwood; 6765 Kentucky 136 West; Calhoun, Kentucky  42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
