J.P. Troutman

J. P. Troutman  92, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Thursday July 14, 2016 at the Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Joe Perry Troutman was born February 19, 1924 in Livia, Kentucky to the Robert William and Floy Priscilla McEuen Troutman,  was a 1942 graduate of Calhoun High School, and was married to Hazel Louise Fulkerson on January 29, 1947.  J.P. was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday school and was a member of Vienna Lodge #423 F. & A.M.  He retired as a supervisor at G.E. in Owensboro serving from 1947 to 1984 and later worked at S.W. Anderson’s Department Store.  In addition to his parents, J.P. was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Hazel L. Troutman on July 12, 2015, and a brother Burnis Troutman.

          Survivors include his son, Steve Troutman of Owensboro; a brother, Carol Ray “Bobby” Troutman of Owensboro, and a sister, Edith Ashby of Livermore; and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church with the Revs. Ron Hampton and Tracy Burnett officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery.  Friends may visit with J.P’s family from 10:00 A.M. 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for J.P.’s family.

          The J.P. Troutman family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pleasant Hope Cemetery Fund; C/O Tom Howard; 3583 Kentucky 136 East; Calhoun, Kentucky  42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the church.
