Faye Free

Faye Free  85, of Livermore, Kentucky died Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun.  Nelda Faye Holder was born August 8, 1931 in Livermore, Kentucky to the late James Buchanan and Grace Ilene Brown Holder and was married to James Ray “Hammer” Free on August 17, 1954.  Nelda was earlier a cook at Riverside Manor in Calhoun, the Livermore School, and later retired from McLean County Middle School.  She enjoyed shopping, visiting with her sisters, and watching University of Kentucky Basketball.  In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James R. “Hammer” Free, who died January 15, 1997 and by a son, Michael Lee Free.

          Survivors include a daughter, Debra K. Howell of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a son, Tony R. Free of Island; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; five sisters, Myrl Lawrence of Livermore, Betty Gross of Owensboro, Lois Goforth of Moorman, Joyce Walker, and Nancy Mansfield both of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Faye’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Musters in Livermore.
