Richard Lee Settle  76, of Calhoun, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Colonial Terrace Health Care in Sebree.  Richard Lee Settle was born June 22, 1940 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late William Otha and Lorella Nevitt Settle and was married to the former Dorothy Jane Priar on June 13, 1958.  He was employed by the local Labor Union and a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Calhoun.  Richard loved the Lord most of all, was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan, and also enjoyed telling stories about the days he played basketball for Utica School.  He also loved farming, raising his cattle and goats, and adored his family.  In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Settle and Randy Settle and by his sister, Shirlene Clark.

          Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Jane Settle; a son and his wife, Scott and Mary Nell Settle of Calhoun; a daughter and her husband, Regina and Bobby Shutt of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Lacey Groves and husband, Adam of Greenville, Emily Epley and husband, Robert of Calhoun, Amy Mincy and husband, Michael of Rumsey, and Lance Shutt and wife, Kodi of Hartford; seven great grandchildren, Elle Marie Groves, Lucas Groves, Linley Mincy, Lyric Mincy, Easton Shutt, Aniston Shutt, and Piper Epley; two sisters-in-law, Mae Priar of Calhoun and Joyce Settle of Utica; an aunt, Ruth Fort of Augusta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Rodney Sills and Johnny Kelton officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Richard’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Richard Lee Settle family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Main Street Church of Christ; P.O. Box 476; Calhoun, Kentucky  42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
