Norma C. Drake

Norma C. Drake  78, of Island, Kentucky died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Norma Christine O’Bannon was born June 20, 1938 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late William and Virgie Whanger O’Bannon and was married to Shirley Gene Drake on September 12, 1964.  Norma was a homemaker, a member of the Baptist faith, and attended Richardson Chapel Baptist Church in Central City.  She enjoyed traveling, decorating her home, and caring for her flowers.  In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Shocklee Cohoon and by a sister, Edna Merle Hemphill.    Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Shirley G. Drake; a son, David G. Drake and wife, Julie of Utica; a daughter, Lisa Shocklee Taylor and husband, Roy of Livermore; a son-in-law, Barry Cohoon of Carthage, Tennessee; four grandchildren, David Michael Drake, Brandon Skaggs, Jason Cohoon, and Megan Ranburger; 5 great grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Dwyer of Central City, Joyce Evans of Calhoun, and Lois Vanover of Princeton, Kentucky; and a special sister-in-law, Violet Rosenbaum of Ashland, Tennessee.

          Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Island Community Cemetery with the Rev. Brandon Skaggs officiating.  Friends may visit with Norma’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.
