To Karen and the Wathen Family: I went to school with Karen and Laura for many years. Although I don't get to see Karen, Laura was my connection to stay updated when I would see her out around town. Karen, I remember your family at school day events and they were so meek and sweet. I'll miss talking to Laura. Now you will have to try to keep in touch with me. I remember Karen, Laura and I racing to finish the Bible Stories Book after it was released at the convention! We were family then and always will be. It is awful what this system forces us to deal with. What a relief it will be when it's leader is gone and our families can spend forever in peace and happiness together. Didn't have the privilege of knowing sister LaPlant, but she was a beautiful spiritual sister nonetheless. We have both lost our mates and I ,sister ransom, have lost four sons and a dear, dear fleshly brother, plus parents. They are all in Jehovah's memory now and we KNOW we will see them again! Laura was such a wonderful aunt. I have so many happy memories of her and the family. One of the things I loved was her laugh. She had such a cute and happy laugh, and it was so funny when my mom and her laughed together. When they laughed together it was always loud and silly and they sounded almost exactly the same. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go to all our family. I can't wait to see her again in paradise.

Jay and the boys, Joe and Faye and the rest of the family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I grew up with Laura and it came as no surprise to me what a wonderful woman she turned out to be. Her zeal and love for Jehovah was so apparent in everything she did. While her loss will be felt by many, we know she is resting and awaiting the resurrection. It us up to us to make sure that we are there to welcome her back. I didn't know her personally but always saw her, Jay and the boys at the conventions and when Jay would come to our hall to give a talk. I feel like I know her as she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we are all one big family and when something like this happens it hurts us all. I didn't know her very well, just from dealing with her as a parent at school. She was always right there when I called her about one of the boys.
