Our condolences to the family during this time of sorrow. May these word give you comfort and hope. Revelation 21:3,4 "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away" As it did our family.

I lost my granddaddy in 2003 to cancer. Charlie came into our lives shortly after. He did not take my granddaddy's place, although he did become another granddaddy to me. Grandma always told me he prayed for me at every meal while j was away and college, and even when I came home. I'll never forget the Saturday nights they took me dancing in Ohio County, or the night he let me drive that old truck around McLean county, he saved his Shania Twain CD in his van just so I could sing obnoxiously loud. He gave me a cross for Christmas two years ago, and I don't take it off unless I shower. His smile and laugh never failed me, his hugs were always there. His spirit was always joyfull. And although he couldn't hear a thing, he always smiled and agreed with anything I said. I love my Gramps, and there won't be a moment I won't miss that sweet man. Rest in peace, I love you most.

This saddens my heart in more ways than one, Charlie was a great man! And will be sorely missed by many! He ALWAYS greeted you with a smile and a laughter that was contagious! It is a complete honor to call this man my friend for many years. I will miss him driving by and stopping just to say hello. I have several great memories of this man, my heart goes out to Mrs. Irene, his kids, grandkids and family.

To Charlie's family and Ms. Irene - We are so saddened to learn of Charlie's passing! We loved Charlie for the great man that he was. His friendly personality and positive attitude towards life made it a real pleasure to be around him. We're sure he had many bad days while battling the leukemia and going through his many, many treatments, however we never once heard him complain. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and for the days ahead! We'll all miss Charlie, however we know he will be missed more by those that he held dearest to his heart - you all! God bless each one of you!
