Patsy Johnson

Patsy Johnson  70, of Island, Kentucky died Friday, February 26, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  Patsy Delores Bishop was born October 7, 1945 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Roy and Ruby Swift Bishop and was married to Shelton Lee Johnson.  Patsy retried as head start teacher from Livermore School and was an active member of Buttonsberry Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Johnson, who died in 1974 and a son, Scottie Dale Johnson, who died September 10, 2015.

          Survivors include a son, Joey Johnson (Vicky) of Rumsey; two daughters, June Brawner (Michael) of Calhoun and Carlyon Price (Rodney Payne) of Whitesville; ten grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Avery Brawner, Jonah Brawner, Cinamon Burden, Makayla Ashby, Cooper Price, Gavin Price, Kayla Chambers, and Trenton Johnson; two brothers, Roy Jr. Bishop and Terry Jet Bishop both of Moorman; and four sisters, Sarah Slinker of Bremen, Dalsie Sartain of Owensboro, Eura Lee Bishop of Island, and Mary Ann Lovett of Somerset.  

          Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at New Hope Cemetery in Moorman with the Rev. Barney Priar officiating.  Friends may visit with Patsy’s family from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.

          The Patsy Johnson family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the New Hope Cemetery Fund; 1105 South Carrollton Street; Central City, Kentucky  42330.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.
