Robert L. Hounton 83, of Island, Kentucky died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Baptist Health Madisonville. Robert Lee Hounton was born January 2, 1933 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Ferdlee and Cordelia Howard Hounton and was married to the former Thelma J. Williams on November 12, 1971. He was a farmer and retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Thelma J. Hounton, who died October 3, 2011.
Survivors include two brothers, Red Hounton of Island and Earl Hounton of Moorman; and a sister, Ruby Chambers of Island.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Island Community Cemetery with the Rev. Barney Priar officiating. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Robert’s family.
