Prentice Ayer 87, of the Buel Community in McLean County, Kentucky died Monday, February 13, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. George Prentice Ayer was born July 14, 1929 in the Buel Community to the late Thomas Paul and Mabel Troutman Ayer, was married to the former Taloma Jean Carmon August 5, 1950, and was better known as “Prenty” by both his family and friends. Prenty was a farmer, a retired carpenter, and member of the Methodist Faith. He was a 60 plus year member of Livermore Lodge # 186 F. & A.M., a member of the Scottish Rites, and a member of the Rizpah Shrine Temple in Madisonville.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Pee Wee Ayer; a god daughter, Vicky Price Passafiume of Gilbertsville, Tennessee; a brother, Paul Ayer of Livermore; and his extended family, Betty and Keith Price, Nickole and Kealey Underwood, and Larkin and Tony Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Mr. Dale Ayer officiating. Entombment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum in Owensboro. Friends may visit with Prenty’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun. Masonic services for Prentice Ayer will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
