Joey Hedges

Joey Hedges  37, of Island, Kentucky died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at University of Louisville Hospital after a brief illness.  Joseph Allen Hedges was born February 8, 1978 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Allen Hoover and Brenda Sue Ellis Hedges, was married to the former Robin Renee Cook on August 10, 1999, and was better known as “Joey” to both his family and friends.  He was and independent truck driver, a member of Island Church of God of Prophecy, and attended Walnut Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro.  Joey loved his family.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, boating, and camping.

          Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Robin Hedges; two daughters, Taylor Hedges and Jaycee Hedges both at home; his son on the way, Jacob “J.T.” Hedges; his father, Allen Hedges and wife, Frances of Owensboro; his mother, Brenda Hedges of Livermore; a sister, Melissa Allen and husband, Rick of Island; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

          In honor of Joey’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.  Friends may visit with Joey’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.

          The Joey Hedges family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hedges Educational Fund; an educational trust for his children; C/O Robin Hedges; 1940 Doug Hill Road; Island, Kentucky  42350.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Livermore.
