Jane Howard

Jane Howard  88, of Calhoun, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun.  Ouida Jane Snyder was born November 27, 1928 as the second daughter of Foster Kerrick and Melvina Louisa Shelton Snyder outside of Livermore in McLean County, Kentucky.  The family moved into Livermore for a few years and then moved to Owensboro.  Jane remained in Owensboro until she wed Guy Sherrill Howard on January 27, 1950 and moved back to McLean County.  Guy and Jane were married for 63 years until his passing on February 28, 2013.  She was a member of Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church.  Jane taught Sunday School for many years, was church clerk for over 40 years and did many other things in the church as needed.  First and foremost she was a farm wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her family was her most precious possession.  In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by two brothers, Neville Snyder and Foster Leslie Snyder and by a sister, Commie Snyder Alender.

          Survivors include her son, Tom Howard and wife, Debbie of Calhoun; her daughter, Barbara Howard and husband, John of Calhoun; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Nathan and Jill Howard and their children, Mason and Emily of Livermore, Leslie and Jeff Komaromi of Dallas, Texas, Craig and Heather Howard and their children, Case, Baler and Dierks of Panther, Eric and Shelbie Howard and their son, Guy of Calhoun, and Kyle Howard and his special friend, Malyn Brackett of Calhoun.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Burnett officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Jane’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The family shall forever be grateful to the staff of Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center for their care and love for our Mother during the last 20 months.
