Billy Jake Ashton

Billy Jake Ashton  76, of Calhoun, Kentucky died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his home in Calhoun.  Billy Jake Ashton was born November 9, 1938 in Calhoun, Kentucky to the late Harvey Jake and Fallie Mae Martin Ashton and was married to the former Patricia Elouse Long on December 24, 1960.  Jake retired as an engineer with the Crounse Corporation, a member of Calhoun Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran.  He also enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.  In addition to his parents, Jake was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Ashton and a daughter, Joilyn Ashton Gardner.

          Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Ashton; a son-in-law, Bernie Gardner of Dale, Indiana; a grandson, Andy Ashton and wife, Amanda of Calhoun; two great grandchildren, Haydyn Ashton and Nathan Johnson; and a sister, Sitter Ayer and husband, Bubby of Calhoun. 

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.  Friends may visit with Jake’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
