Zella K. McCaslin

     Zella K. McCaslin  100, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun.  Zella Katherine Jones was born May 20, 1925 in Lyonia, Kentucky to the late James William and Fronia Catherine Newton Jones and was married to James Verne McCaslin on May 17, 1943.

     Zella was a homemaker and a member of Calhoun United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and spending time with both her family and friends.     In addition to her parents, Zella was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Verne McCaslin, who died December 1, 2000; her two sons, Dennis V. McCaslin and Darrell ‘JJ’ McCaslin; a great-great-granddaughter, Emma Knight; four brothers and five sisters.

     Zella is survived by a daughter-in-law, Janie McCaslin of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Steve McCaslin, Daniel McCaslin, Billy McCaslin, Catie Schutte (John), Sonya Lee, and Jason Gray (Jill); 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Zella’s family from 1:30 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.

     The Zella K. McCaslin family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, Tennessee  38105.
