Roger Burden 71, of the Livia Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Roger Gary Burden was born August 21, 1953 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Shultie Warden and Lorene Belcher Burden and was married to the former Judith Ann Clark on January 1, 1972.
Roger earlier worked as a coal miner and retired as an environmental engineer with Commonwealth Rolled Products. He was a Gideon and a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church.
Roger enjoyed restoring tractors and building wheelchair ramps for people in the community. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed spending time with both his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Judy Burden, who died April 27, 2020.
Roger is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Tucker (Aaron) of Livia and Michelle Hughes (Michael) of Utica; six grandchildren, Ethan Tucker, Amelia Tucker, Cora Tucker, Madison Hughes, Mason Hughes, and Miles Hughes; a great-granddaughter, Harper Jo; two brothers, Danny Burden (DiAnna) of Whitesville and Mike Burden (Sheri) of Owensboro; two sisters, Sandy Burden of Owensboro and Kathy Hudson (Mike) of Calhoun; and many special people.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Smith-Ratliff Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Roger’s family from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 8:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Musters in Livermore.
