Rick Medley  73, of Eddyville, Kentucky; formerly of Elba passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.  Charles Richard Medley was born June 22, 1950 to the late Charles H. and Mary Clarice Dant Medley, was married to the former Shirley Ann Keown on August 29, 1969, and was better known as “Rick” to both his family and friends.  Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was known for his determination, hard work, and sense of humor.

Rick's early life was marked by his dedication to his family.  At the young age of 16, he left school to become a plumber, helping to support his family.  His skill and determination quickly earned him recognition, and he became the youngest Journeyman Plumber in Kentucky.  He went on to serve the community for 47 years as a plumber and pipefitter, retiring from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #633 of Owensboro.  Rick's work ethic was unmatched, and he was respected by his peers for his commitment and expertise.

Rick was a man of many interests.  He loved spending time at the Lake House, where he created countless memories with his family and friends.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.  In his younger years, Rick had a passion for motorcycles and drag racing, a testament to his adventurous spirit.

Rick's life was a testament to his resilience, determination, and love for his family.  He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion.  His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rick's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life.  He was a loving husband to his wife of 54 years, Shirley Medley.  His dedication to his family extended to his son, Chad Medley of Owensboro, and his grandchildren, Caleb Medley (Bree Johnson) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Chloe Medley of Owensboro.  He also shared a special bond with his twin sister, Janie Ellis (Donnie) of Poplar Grove.  He was a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews and a cherished friend to many.

Rick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Medley; a son, Chad Medley of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Caleb Medley (Bree Johnson) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Chloe Medley of Owensboro; his twin sister, Janie Ellis (Donnie) of Poplar Grove; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
