Ralph Loyd Obituary

 

 

 

     Ralph Loyd  84, of Utica, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his home in Utica.  Ralph Ellis Loyd was born on October 15, 1938 in Livermore, Kentucky to the late Ralph and Lorene Geary Loyd and was married to the former Anna Myrl Coin on June 14, 1958.

     Ralph retired from Alcoa as a Unit Supervisor in 1993.  He was a faithful member of Panther Creek Baptist Church.  Ralph was also a thirty-second degree mason and a Shriner, where he transported children to specialty Shriners’ hospitals in Lexington and Cincinnati for their treatments for many years.  He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis as a gunner.  Ralph’s favorite hobbies included hunting, gardening, woodworking, and sharing his bounty with others.  In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Loyd and by his sister, Macie Ridgway Wells.

     Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Anna Myrl Loyd; two sons, Gary Loyd, MD (Bud Howell) of Royal Oak, Michigan and Harold Loyd (Linda) of Enon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jonathan Loyd, Brad Loyd, Michael Loyd, Jennifer Sexten (Ryan), and Stephanie Snyder (Alex); four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Revs. Eddie Duke and Erdie Carter officiating.  Burial will be in the Island Baptist Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post # 5415.  Friends may visit with Ralph’s family from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday and from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Livermore.

     Ralph’s services will be streamed live on www.musterfuneralhomes.com at 1:00 P.M. Monday.

     The Ralph Loyd family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Panther Creek Baptist Church, Walkway Fund, 7146 Highway 431, Owensboro, Kentucky  42301.
