Mary Jane Johnson 96, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Mary Jane Troutman was born October 23, 1929 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late William Gobel and Nellie Richardson Troutman and was married to Albert ‘Red’ Johnson on June 12, 1949.
Mary Jane was a homemaker, a loyal servant to her Lord, and an active member of First General Baptist Church in Owensboro, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, music, and playing the organ.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Albert ‘Red’ Johnson, who died February 1, 2001 and by a granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole Johnson.
Mary Jane is survived by two sons, James Johnson (Mary Burmaster) of St.Paul, Minnesota and Keith Johnson (Tanya) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two daughters, Carolyn Grantz (Joseph) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Joan Bencomo of New Albany, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Mary Jane’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
