Mary G. Adams

     Mary G. Adams  76, of Island, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  Mary Gene Wood was born July 18, 1949 in Island, Kentucky to the late Haynes and Gladys English Wood and was married to Mitchell Lee Adams on October 16, 1970.

     Mary was a homemaker and earlier worked at OCTC Bookstore.

     Mary could be found outside tending her flowers and walking her dog through the woods, enjoying everything nature had to offer.  Keeping the hummingbirds fed was her full-time job during the summer.  Mary was an independent, hardworking, and caring woman who wouldn’t give up on anything she set out to do.  She was always by her daughter’s side to help with whatever adventure she and all of her friends were getting into, whether it was a fundraiser or a girl’s trip.  Mary was always along for the ride with her daughter and son-in-law for adventures at any time.

     In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Mitchell L. Adams, who died December 18, 2019.

     Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kim Geary (Larry) of Island; a bonus grandson, Dale Geary (Tia) of Leitchfield; and four great-grandchildren.

     In keeping with Mary’s wishes, no public services will be held.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Mary’s family.

     The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the amazing caregivers and staff at Hosparus Health of Western Kentucky.
