Martha E. Jones

Martha E. Jones  94, of Island, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Owensboro.  Martha Ellen Lott was born February 16, 1924 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Virgle and Fannie Mae Hazalee Lott and was married to Thomas Strother Jones June 4, 1943.  Martha retired as a custodian at McLean County High School and was a member of Buttonsberry Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jones, who died March 22, 1988; by two daughters, Linda Jones and Brenda Chinn; by a son, Delbert Jones; and by a brother, Charlie Lott.

          Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Boyken (Harlan) of Island, Charlotte Gross of Richmond, Kentucky, Ruby Scott (Larry), and Angela Donahue both of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; and a brother, James Lott (Jolene) of Livermore.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Tony Boyken and Barney Priar officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Martha’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.        The Martha E. Jones family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Heartford House; 3419 Wathens Crossing; Owensboro, Kentucky  42301.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
