Margaret Godfrey

     Margaret Godfrey  77, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at the Heartford House in Owensboro.  Margaret Anne Godfrey was born July 1, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Martin and Iva Samantha Watson Godfrey.

     Margaret worked as a seamstress in Alabama and after moving to Kentucky she was an elderly caregiver for several families in the area.  She was also a member of the Calhoun Christian Church.  Margaret loved both reading and sewing, making both of her daughters’ wedding dresses as well as their prom dresses.

     In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Marty ‘Bubba’ Godfrey and by a sister, Lavonda Iva Hartzog.

     Margaret is survived by two daughters, Joann Blackshear (Sam) of Columbia, Alabama and Gie Bunn (Tim) of Crofton, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Godfrey of Wetumpka, Alabama.

     Family services will be held at a later date.  There will be no public visitation or services.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Margaret’s family.
