Joyce Harris 83, of Calhoun, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her home near Calhoun. Marilyn Joyce Sunn was born November 23, 1937 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Charles Raymond and Cenia Lucille Tomes Sunn and was married to Paul Arthur Harris February 7, 1958. Joyce was a homemaker and member of Glenville Baptist Church. She served as a 4-H volunteer for several years and also enjoyed volunteering at both the Treasure House and the McLean County History and Genealogy Museum in Calhoun. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Paul Harris, who died September 9, 2013.
Survivors include a son, Michael Harris of Calhoun; two daughters, Jeannie Langley (Scott) of Glendale and Joanna Culbreth (Ronnie) of Columbus, Georgia; five grandchildren, Melanie Hart, Laura Langley Rizer (Brad), Drew Langley (Summer), Sara Culbreth Denes (Gabriel), and Erin Langley; seven grandchildren, Paul, Lucy, Cash, Stella, Hadley, Eliza, and Anna Kate; two brothers, Doug Sunn of Calhoun and Tommy Sunn of La Porte, Indiana; two sisters, Jean Middleton of Calhoun and Erlene Rutan of Lake Jackson, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Laura Norton of Ripley, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 14th at Glenville Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Glenville Baptist Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may visit with Joyce’s family from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Glenville Baptist Church. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Joyce’s family. In compliance with health and public safety directives, capacity for Joyce’s visitation and funeral service will be limited in accordance with state guidelines. Due to the Governor’s mandate, masks or facial coverings are required during all services.
