Jim Thomas

     Jim Thomas  73, of Hartford, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at his home in Hartford.  James Henry Thomas was born May 11, 1953 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late John Haines and Kathryn Shutt Thomas, was married to the former Cecilia ‘CeCe’ Kittinger Chinn on August 25, 1984, and was better known as ‘Jim’ to both his family and friends.

     Jim was a 1971 Graduate of the former Calhoun High School, a 1975 Graduate of the University of The South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and a 1979 Graduate of the University of Louisville Law School.  He started his career as an attorney in Hartford and later in his career transitioned to being a registered nurse, working at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest in Owensboro.  Jim was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church, a member of the Hartford Masonic Lodge, and a member of Rizpah Shrine Temple in Madisonville.

     Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, CeCe Thomas; a daughter, Lelia Kathryn Thomas O’Neill (Jared) of Whitesville; two grandchildren, James Kian Morris and Madelyn Pearl O’Neill; and two sisters, Joan Thomas White (Steve) of Masonville and Julie Thomas Clark (Mike) of Philpot.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Burial will be in the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Jim’s family from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
