Jewell Moore 86, of Grand Rivers, formerly of the Semiway Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Tradewater Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dawson Springs. Jewell Lester Moore was born October 8, 1938 in Christian County, Kentucky to the late Leslie and Zelma Hopper Moore and was married to the former Donna Faye Carroll on September 30, 1966.
Jewell was a retired coal miner and a member of the former New Cypress Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McLean County. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and also enjoyed mowing his yard, caring for and constantly shining on his car.
In addition to his parents, Jewell was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Donna Moore, who died December 31, 2016.
Jewell is survived by a son, Shawn Moore (Darlene) of Coiltown; a daughter, Owatta Lowther (Rick) of Grand Rivers; five grandchildren including, Caleb Moore (Jennifer), Kristin Terrill (Scott), and Tara Scott; seven great-grandchildren, Lucille Moore, Eloise Moore, Brenner Terrill, Blake Terrill, Dre Scott, Lonna Scott, and Alex Oliver; and a great-great-grandson, Gatlin Oliver.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday, August 1, 2025 at New Cypress Cemetery in McLean County. There will be no public visitation. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Jewell’s family.
