George C. Taylor 85, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his home in Newburgh. George Calvin Taylor was born July 15, 1940 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Lucian T. and Ora Lee Conrad Taylor, was married to the former Melba Jean Vanover on August 15, 1959, until her death on January 11, 2002, and was later married to the former Donna Wayne Tucker on July 19, 2002.
George was a graduate of the former Calhoun High School, where he was a member of the F.F.A. He retired as a supervisor from Alcoa, Warrick Operations and was a member of Bethel Temple in Evansville.
George was an auctioneer, a wielder, and enjoyed restoring old cars. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and visiting both the beach and ocean. George also loved spending time with both his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, George was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lucian Earl Taylor and Delbert Lee Taylor.
George is survived by his wife of 23 years, Donna Wayne Taylor; three daughters, Labreska Will (John) of Evansville, Teresa Taylor Harris, and Laresa Probus (Neal) both of Newburgh; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Sue Isbell (David) of Philpot; a sister-in-law, Virginia Taylor of Beech Grove; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel was in charge of the arrangements for George’s family.
