Don Sonner 82, of Island, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. James Don Sonner was born April 13, 1938 in Island, Kentucky to the late Joseph Howell and Eura Elizabeth Nall Sonner. Don attended Sacramento High School, retired from A & S Fabricating in Livermore and was a member of Island Church of God of Prophecy. Don enjoyed his morning coffee visits with his friends at the gas station. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Sonner and by a sister, Ruby Coin.
Survivors include a son, Donnie Sonner, Jr. of Beech Grove, Tennessee; a daughter, Julie Peksenak of Valpariso, Indiana; 3 grandchildren; a close friend, Mindy Gregory of Calhoun; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Lott officiating. Burial will be in the Island Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Don’s family from 12:00 P.M. (noon) until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Livermore. In compliance with health and public safety directives, capacity for Don’s visitation and funeral service will be limited in accordance with state guidelines. Due to the Governor’s mandate, masks or facial coverings are required during all services.
