Carolyn Guy 99, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Carolyn Marie Jennings was born January 22, 1926 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Herbert Earl and Edna Marie Evans Jennings and was married to Chester Lee Guy on February 12, 1944.
Carolyn retired from Kroger’s, Wesleyan Park Plaza after more than 20 years of service and was a member of Beulah General Baptist Church in McLean County. She was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and a volunteer at God’s House of Hope in Island. Carolyn also enjoyed reading and spending time with both her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Chester Guy, who died May 1, 1996; by her daughter, Sharon Kaye Sallee; and by a grandson, Riley Scott Sallee.
Carolyn is survived by three grandchildren, Brian Sallee of Louisville, Terry Owen of Owensboro, and Kerry Bailey of Calhoun; 7 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Jennings (Diane) of Lake Malone; three sisters, Dorothy Maxwell of Calhoun, Linda Pruner (Jim) of Bristol, Virginia, and Kim Moore (Roy) of Hazard; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Carolyn’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
