Bro. Truman E. Johnson 98, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at his home in Ohio County. Truman Earl Johnson was born June 14, 1927 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Mary Lee Price Johnson and was married to the former Mary Lee Thomasson on December 6, 1947.
Truman was a U.S. Marine Veteran and retired as a Baptist minister with over 60 years of service. He served at Yelvington, Newman, Greenwood, Cloverport, and Slaty Creek Baptist Churches. Truman was a member of Woodwards Valley Baptist Church, where he was given the title of Pastor Emeritus. He enjoyed gardening, refinishing antique furniture, singing in his quartets, and watching University of Kentucky Basketball.
In addition to his parents, Truman was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lee Johnson, who died July 3, 2016; a daughter, Pat Brown; and a great-grandson, Bart Triplett.
Truman is survived by two sons, Truman E. Johnson, II (Janet) of Atlanta and Fred L. Johnson (Tammi) of Livermore; a daughter, Doris Armes of Livermore; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Woodwards Valley Baptist Church in Ohio County. Burial will be in the Woodwards Valley Cemetery in Ohio County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415. Friends may visit with Truman’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel.
