Bill Jones 78, of Sacramento, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. William Ernest Jones was born September 7, 1946 in Providence, Kentucky to the late Richard William and Mary Lillian Hazel Jones, was married to the former Ruby Lois Smith on December 7, 1974, and was better known as ‘Bill’ to both his friends and family.
Bill retired as a foreman from Peabody Coal Mines after more than 30 years of service and attended Central City Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, NASCAR, and University of Kentucky Basketball. His greatest joy in life was spoiling both his children and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Jones; two sons and their wives, Jeff and Sherri Taylor of Owensboro and Mark and Patty Jones of New Whiteland, Indiana; four daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Bruce Dossett of Sacramento, Christy and Stran Burton of New Whiteland, Tara and Eric Williams of Sacramento, and Misty and Chris Ellis of Sacramento; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn and Nicole Taylor, Justin and Rachel Taylor, Ruby and Tyler Sanz, Brad and Jill Jones, Hannah and Christopher Lanham, Brittni and Jonathon Randolph, Taylor and Mick Skaggs, Brandon and Heidi Burton, Grace and Casey Jenson, Candace and Devon Dickens, Cameron Kinman, Treysen Ellis, and Carsen Ellis; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2025 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the New Cypress Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 10:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
