Betty Jo Bales 85, of Sacramento, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at her son’s home in Evansville. Betty Jo Ellis was born July 26, 1940 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Eckless and Joe Ella Morehead Ellis and was married to Dewey Bales on June 7, 1970.
She always enjoyed horses, was a member of the Sacramento Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Sacramento High School. She was primarily a homemaker but also retired from G.E. in Owensboro.
In addition to her parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dewey Bales; grandson, Joey Wayne; sisters Nora Dean Ellis and Carolyn Markwell.
Betty Jo is survived by her son, Curtis Wayne and Stacey of Evansville; two brothers, Eckless Ellis, Jr. of Bremen and Rev. Roy Gene Ellis of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Nancy Ellis and Orvel of Evansville; and cousin, Norvell Ellis and Kay of Sacramento.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 23, 2026 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the West Schoolhouse Cemetery in Sacramento. Friends may visit with Betty Jo’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
