Alice T. Anderson 91, of Owensboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Alice Gwendolyn Tomes was born March 4, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Clarence Chester and Della Irene Cobb Tomes. Alice was a waitress at the former Executive Inn and Gabe’s Tower and a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro. She was an artist and enjoyed painting, arts and crafts. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Miller, Ruby Dunn, and Ethel Bennett; and by two brothers, Dwight Tomes and William Richard “Dickie” Tomes.
Survivors include two brothers, Paul Tomes (Jean) and Hugh Denny Tomes (Judy) both of Calhoun; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In compliance with health and public safety directives private graveside services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County with the Rev. Eugene Howard officiating. Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Alice’s family.
