Ruby Nell Carter 82, of Wentzville, Missouri formerly of Draffenville, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Parklane Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wentzville. Ruby Nell Vanover was born May 8, 1936 in Rumsey, Kentucky to the late Goman Earl and Nellie Esther Downs Vanover and was married to John Daniel Carter April 5, 1951. Ruby was a retired cake decorator, a member of Wentzville First Assembly of God and a former member of Knobbs Church of God of Prophecy in McLean County. She enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends and cooking for her family.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, John Carter; three daughters, Joyce Yvonne Corbin (Austin) of Lexington, Tennessee, Sharon Dale Tick (Rick) of Wentzville, and Merita Joy LaPlante (Bruce) of Hammond, Wisconsin; two sisters, Della Lee Gobin of Providence, Kentucky and Joyce Ray Akridge of Ocala, Florida; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Scott McNees and Barry Cullen officiating. Burial will be in the New Cypress Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Ruby’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
