Robert Coffman

Robert Coffman 76, of Beech Grove went on to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 23, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home.  Squire Robert Coffman was born January 8, 1941 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the John Howell “Doc” and Fannie Beatrice Oakely Coffman and married the former Hazel Faye Watson on April 11, 1964.  In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Hazel Coffman; a great great grandchild, Evelyn Hagan; sisters: Prudie Christine Coffman and Shirley Ann Knight; four brothers: John Howell “Buck” Coffman, Robert Lee Coffman, William Carl “Bill” Coffman, and James Ellis “Jim” Coffman.

          Robert worked at Green Valley Farm Supply for over 30 years, was owner of Beech Grove Saw Shop for 20 years, and worked in farming and logging for several years.  He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, rabbit hunting, and catfishing.

          Survivors include a son, Doug Coffman and his wife Jennifer of Beech Grove; three daughters, Becky Hagan and her husband David of Calhoun, Robin Mathieu and her husband Jason of Marion, KY, and Rachel Diane Hawkins of Beech Grove; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Joe Coffman of Beech Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Elba, KY.  Friends may visit with Robert’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Robert Coffman family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Robert Coffman Memorial Fund; C/O Muster Funeral Homes; P. O. Box 160; Calhoun, KY 42327  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
