Marie Powell

       Marie Powell  95, of Beech Grove, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree.  Doris Marie Hinton was born April 17, 1924 in Corydon, Kentucky to the late Walter G. and Risa Lee Fulkerson Hinton and was married to William Earl “Bill” Powell March 18, 1944.  Marie earlier worked at General Electric in Owensboro, retired as a cook from Calhoun Grade School and was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church.  She enjoyed caring for her flowers and spending time with both her family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bill Powell, who died July 4, 2011.

       Survivors include two sons, Bubby Powell (Joyce) and Mike Powell (Nesie) both of Beech Grove; two daughters, Sharon Thompson (David) of West Louisville and Frances Vanover (Larry) of Jacksonville, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Martin of Henderson.

       Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Jim Midkiff officiating.  Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist  Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Marie’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.

       The Marie Powell family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Beech Grove Christian Church, Building Fund; P.O. Box 177; Beech Grove, Kentucky  42322.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
