Luvern Schlomer 89, of Owensboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest in Owensboro. Helen Luvern Dame was born November 21, 1929 in Dunmor, Kentucky to the late Earl and Oleta Blackwell Dame and was married to James Edward Schlomer March 30, 1963. Luvern was a beautician and member of Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Owensboro. In addition to her parents, Luvern was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Jimmy Schlomer, who died October 8, 2004; by two brothers, Norris Dame and Jewell Dame; and by six sisters, Wilma Dame, Nelda Parker, Lillian Roberts, Wanda Coon, Mary Tanner, and Earlene May.
Survivors include a brother, Roger Dame of Auburn, Kentucky; three sisters, Diane Doll of Owensboro, Linda Mahaney of Tell City, Indiana and Nancy Garner (Kenny) of Owensboro; a step son, Mike Schlomer (Veronica) of Owensboro; a step daughter, Pam Coffey of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
To honor Luvern’s requests, there will be no formal funeral service. Friends may visit with Luvern’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be at a late date in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.
