Lige Arnold 82, of Madisonville, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky. James Elijah Arnold was born February 14, 1936 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late George Thomas and Renetta Moriel Ellis Arnold, was married to the former Yvonne Welborn October 12, 1957 and was better known as “Lige” to his family and friends. Lige retired as an engineer from the Kentucky State Highway Department and was a member of Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Marine Corps Reserves and was an avid collector.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Yvonne Arnold; a son, Chris Arnold (Mitzie) of Lexington; a daughter, Sherri Arnold (Clint Holmes) of Rumsey; and two grandsons, Maxwell Arnold and Riley Arnold.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Marc Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Lige’s family from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
