Leslie C. Moody, Jr.  90, of Versailles, Kentucky, formerly of Sacramento went on to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 10, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home in Versailles.  Leslie Clay Moody was born April 5, 1927 in Sacramento, Kentucky to the late Leslie Clay and Grace Emma McEuen Moody and married the love of his life, the former Coreta Mae Carter April 27, 1947 who stood by his side for 70 years.  Leslie served as Southern Baptist Minister for 50 plus years in various churches throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Prior to answering the call of ministry he proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII.  In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela “P.J.” Neff; a son, Jerry Moody; and by his sisters, Hattie Smith, Blanche McLaughlin, and Ruth Troutman.

          Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Coreta Carter Moody; a daughter, Janel Moody deBoer and husband, Jonathan of Lexington, four grandchildren, Clay Neff and wife, Laura, Jenica deBoer Hall, Jamison Moody, and Jonathan Moody; seven great grandchildren, Alexis Pennington, Alec Neff, Luke Neff, Jordan Hall, Jackson Hall, Sydney Neff and Nathaniel Neff; and a brother, Haley Moody and wife, Joyce of Louisville.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Frank Skaggs and Jamison Moody officiating.  Burial will be in the Island Baptist Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.  Friends may visit with Leslie’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Leslie C. Moody, Jr. family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Bluegrass Care Navigators; 663 Teton Trail; Frankfort, Kentucky  40601.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.

          The family wishes to thank Hospice Care, family and friends in attendance, and all support through prayers.
