Laura E. Peters 85, of Livermore, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Transcendent Healthcare North in Boonville, Indiana. Laura Ellen Garst was born February 7, 1933 in Livermore, Kentucky to the late Joseph William and Bobbie Ruth Crowder Garst and was married to L.C. Peters June 24, 1955. Laura earlier worked at General Electric in Owensboro, retired from the former Cowden’s Manufacturing in Central City and was a member of the Baptist Faith. She was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and enjoyed spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, L.C. Peters, who died August 8, 2017; a brother, John Garst; and by four sisters, Frances Hughes, Ruth Jenkins, Ruby Puckett, and Nola Coin.
Survivors include a son, Greg Peters and wife, Robin of Owensboro; two daughters, Kathy Bolton and Gayle Ruby and husband, Michael both of Livermore; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Allen Garst of Tennessee; and a sister, Dean Hatfield of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Clive Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Green River Memorial Gardens in Livermore. Friends may visit with Laura’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.
