Johnnie F. Jones, Jr.

Johnnie F. Jones, Jr.  68, of Island, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.  Johnnie Franklin Jones, Jr. was born November 25, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Johnnie Franklin and Christella Louise Mohl Jones and was married to the former Dorothy Snyder February 3, 1973.  A loving husband, father and grandfather, Johnnie was a disabled Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Army and a member of the Baptist Faith.  He enjoyed woodworking and loved both his grandbabies and horses.  In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrie Lynn Berris and by two sisters, Nancy Dunn and Seely Mills.

          Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Jones; four sons, Rick Young (Allison) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Johnnie Jones (Tracy) of Calhoun, Jason Jones (Christine Colburn) of Calhoun, and Jesse Jones (Charlotte) of Island; his nine grandbabies, Jessica Jones, Kyler Jones, Ethan Young, Richard Young, Karen Page, Rebecca Jones, Evan “J.J.” Jones, Rose Jones, and Christina Young; his four extended grandchildren, Destiney, Zoey, Tala, and Fabian; two brothers, Dan Jones of Newport News, Virginia and Darrell Jones of Owensboro; and two sisters, Mary Lou Jones of Philpot and Betty Mattingly of Owensboro.

          Family services will be held at a later date.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel in handling the arrangements for Johnnie’s family.
