Joe W. Ford 72, of Owensboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Owensboro. Joe Weldon Ford was born February 19, 1946 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Leslie William and Lena Mary Baughn Ford and was married to the former Patricia Ruth Waltrip January 1, 1970. Joe retired as a heavy equipment operator from the State Highway Department in Calhoun and was a faithful member of Church Alive in Owensboro where he served on the church board and as church deacon for more than 40 years. Joe was an AKC registered Beagle breeder, enjoyed raising and training his beagles, and was a member of several Beagle organizations, including the Owensboro – Ohio County Beagle Club. He enjoyed UK Basketball and spending time with both his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by special nephew who was like his own son, Chris Ford.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Pat Ford; two daughters, Melissa Troutman of Owensboro and Amy Jo Stewart and husband, Eddie of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Kaley Troutman, Cassie Troutman, Nate Stewart, Nolan Stewart, and Carson Stewart; a brother, Jimmy Ford and wife, Linda of Henderson; a sister, Fredia Broadley of Beech Grove; a sister-in-law, Martha Ford and husband, Jerry of Owensboro; and a brother-in-law, Danny Waltrip and wife, Kathy of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with his double cousin, the Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Joe’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.
