Dorothy (Miller) Vanover

September 15, 1926 ~ June 3, 2018 (age 91)

 

Dorothy Vanover 91, of Owensboro and formerly of Utica, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab. Center in Ohio County.  Dorothy Ann Miller was born September 15, 1926 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late William Briggs and Cassie Henning Miller and was married to Luther Edward Vanover until his death February 5, 1995.  Dorothy was a homemaker and a charter member of Owensboro Christian Church.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning vegetables.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, James Daryl Vanover, two brothers, and four sisters.

          Survivors include two sons; Barry Vanover and his wife Dena of Owensboro, and Roger Vanover of Utica; two daughters; Caryl Bunner and her late husband Steve of Tampa, FL, and Lisa Banks and Roger of Drakesboro; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a sister, Faye Haire of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Dorothy’s family from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Calhoun.
