When I was just 13 years old, my Mom gave birth to my sister at our home and had some complications. I called for the ambulance and Darrell was th first one there. He was so kind and comforting to me, because I was very scared. I will never forget that night or his kindness back in 1981. In fact, on Thursday, September the 28th, my sister will celebrate her 36th birthday. I wanted to share how good he was to me that night. So sorry foy your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Darrell's passing. He was a sweet man who was always so kind to me at Subway. One time when I first started working there, I made coffee and he was the first customer to drink it. He drank a whole cup and as he was leaving, he kindly told me there were grounds in it. Of course, I apologized. But he said it was no big deal and he drank it anyway. He just wanted to tell me so that nobody else could give me a hard time about it. I think that reflects his personality. Willing to sacrifice his morning coffee so my feelings wouldn't get hurt, but didn't want someone else to hurt them either. KaSandra and I both loved him and hope his family are able to find some comfort in knowing he was a joy to serve and chat with.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.
