Carolyn Son

Carolyn Son  85, of Owensboro, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Owensboro.  Carolyn Lou Dorris was born April 8, 1932 in Graham, Kentucky to the late James Glen and Rebecca Williams Dorris and was married to Henry Thomas “Penny” Son December 1, 1951.  Carolyn was a homemaker and member of Unity Chapel Baptist Church in Muhlenberg County.  She was an avid Kentucky Wildcats, Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals Fan.  In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Jamie Dorris and Denny Dorris and by a sister, Sue Bradley.

          Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Penny Son; two sons, Mike Son and Mark Son and wife, Dale Ann both of Vincennes, Indiana; a daughter, Becky Son of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Mandi Son, Michael Son, Matthew Son, Jennifer Spann, Philip Chanley, Jr., and Abbe Steffey; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Dorris of Prescott, Arizona and Ben Dorris of Gold Canyon, Arizona; several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Tony Boyken officiating.  Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Carolyn’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Monday at Musters in Calhoun.

          The Carolyn Son family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The Heartford House; 2914 Old Hartford Road; Owensboro, Kentucky  42303.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
