Dell Swift 97, of Calhoun, Kentucky peacefully passed surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home. Orffie Odell Dunnagan was born June 3, 1920 in Bon Aqua, Tennessee to the late John Thomas and Laura McCoy Dunnagan and was married to Charles Lee Swift July 25, 1961. Dell was a retired seamstress and member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Calhoun. She enjoyed volunteering at the Kingdom Hall, gardening, baking, and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Charles “Pete” Swift; three sons, Charles David Poyner and wife, Leona of Clinton Township, Michigan, Robert Stephen Poyner and wife, Jacque of Fraser, Michigan and Peter Harvey Swift and wife, Barbara of Moore Haven, Florida; a daughter, Barbara Jean Landry and husband, Edward of Sun City, Arizona; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Dunnagan of Chehalis, Washington; a sister, Lillian Hatley of Dickson, Tennessee; and two special friends, Lisa Vincent of Calhoun and Jill Estes of Owensboro.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; 1030 Kentucky 136 East, Calhoun, Kentucky. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.
