Danny Edwards

Danny Edwards  71, of Calhoun, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home.  James Daniel Edwards was born December 28, 1946 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Elmyron Lee and Lula Clementine Jones Edwards, was married to the former Lynda Jean Thompson December 4, 1971 and was better known as Danny to both his family and friends.  Danny was a farmer at heart, retired in 2009 as a truck driver for Field Packing Company after 44 years of service, was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun, and a U.S. Army Veteran.  He enjoyed deer, coon, rabbit and quail hunting, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, coaching his daughters softball teams, gardening, horseback riding and UK Basketball.  In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by a grandson, Colten Samuel Burden and by two brothers, Billy Edwards and Benny Edwards.

          Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lynda Edwards; two daughters, Karen Edwards (Alex Towery) of St. Joseph and Christie Poe (Jody) of Sorgho; four grandchildren, Joren Edwards, Madison Poe, Caleb Poe, and Ashley Cates (Jacob); a great grandson, Cooper Cates; two brothers, Bob Edwards of Destin, Florida and Sam Edwards (Connie) of Owensboro; two sisters-in-law, Linda Edwards of Bremen and Bernardine Edwards of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church with Rev. John Ighacho officiating.  Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery in McLean County with Military Honors conducted by the McLean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5415.  Friends may visit with Danny’s family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 8:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.  Prayer services and a video presentation of Danny’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.
