Shelia Fulkerson Obituary

Shelia Fulkerson  77, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.  Shelia Gayle Crabtree was born February 12, 1947 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to the late Homer Glenn and Martha Lee Bowles Crabtree.  Shelia's life journey was a testament to her resilience and passion for service.

Shelia inherited a strong sense of family and community from her beloved parents.  Her professional life was marked by her commitment to Calhoun and McLean County.  Shelia retired as the McLean County Property Valuation Administrator after more than 30 years of service, a role in which she served with integrity and diligence.  Her work was not just a job but a means to contribute to the well-being of her neighbors and the place she called home.

A diehard Republican, Shelia's passion for politics was evident to all who knew her.  She engaged in lively discussions, always ready to share her perspective and listen to others.  Her regular viewings of FOX News kept her informed and fueled her participation in the political process.  Shelia was also a dedicated member of the Calhoun United Methodist Church, where her faith and fellowship with others were sources of strength and comfort.

Beyond her professional and political interests, Shelia was known for her love of crossword puzzles.  The challenge of solving these puzzles mirrored her approach to life: thoughtful, patient, and always seeking to understand the bigger picture.

Shelia's compassion was boundless.  She was the kind of person who would extend help to anyone in need or support a cause that touched her heart.  Her generosity and kindness left an indelible mark on the lives of many, and her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Shelia Fulkerson was a woman whose life was a portrait of dedication, warmth, and genuine care for others.  Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her remarkable presence.  Shelia’s journey through life was a beacon of hope and a reminder that one person's commitment to their community and loved ones can indeed make a world of difference.

In addition to her parents, Shelia was preceded in death by a daughter, Donya Revlett and by her brother, Gary O. Crabtree.

Shelia is survived by her daughter, Lori Harlan (Dwayne) of Lawrenceburg; two granddaughters, Casey Lilly (Hunter) and Kelley Harlan; two great-grandchildren, Emma Lilly and Trevor Lilly; a sister-in-law, Callie Crabtree of Island; a nephew, Sean Blades (Amy) of Island; and two nieces, Christy Woosley (Paul) and Cori Free (Brian) both of Island.
