Judy McCormick Obituary

Judy McCormick  70, of Sacramento, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.  Judith Ann Fenwrick was born November 19, 1953 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Gilbert and Mary Frances Baggett Fenwrick and was married to Richard Lloyd ‘Rick’ McCormick on August 29, 1969.  Known affectionately by friends and family as Judy, her warmth and kindness were evident from an early age and remained her defining characteristics throughout her life.

In her professional life, Judy was known for her skilled hands and warm conversation as a beautician in the close-knit community of Island, Kentucky.  Her clients often left her chair not only looking better but feeling better, having been touched by Judy's genuine interest in their lives.  Her work was more than a job; it was an extension of her caring spirit.

Judy's faith played a central role in her life.  As a member of the Nickel Ridge Pentecostal Church, she found great joy and solace in her church family.  Her faith was active and alive, guiding her in daily life and inspiring her to serve others in any way she could.  One of Judy's most heartfelt contributions was the creation of prayer shawls for struggling families, a ministry that combined her love of crafting with her deep desire to comfort those in need.

Beyond her work and church activities, Judy's passions were close to home.  Her dogs were a constant source of joy, and she devoted herself to their care with the same nurturing spirit she gave to all living things.  Judy's gentle nature and unwavering love for her canine companions exemplified her overall approach to life—filled with compassion, patience, and kindness.

Judy's presence was a light in the lives of those who knew her.  She had the rare gift of making every person she met feel valued and heard.  Her laughter was infectious, her advice was sought after, and her ability to listen without judgment was a comfort to many.

As we say goodbye to Judy, we celebrate a life beautifully lived.  Her legacy is one of love, service, and quiet strength.  We will miss her deeply, but we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the lives she touched.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Fenwrick and by her sister, Pam.

Judy was the cherished wife of Rick McCormick, with whom she shared 54 years of loving marriage.  Together, they navigated life's challenges and joys, creating a legacy of love and mutual respect.  Judy is also survived by her mother, Mary Smith of Dundee; her brother, Dan Fenwrick of Livermore, along with several nieces and nephews.

Judy’s life will be honored in a service that reflects the hope she found in her faith.  We will gather to remember her, to share our grief, and to find comfort in the community she so loved.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Who So Ever Will Mission; 763 Kentucky 81; Calhoun, Kentucky.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Judy’s family.
