Betty Baird

     Betty Baird  76, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 in Madisonville.  Betty Sue Noffsinger was born November 16, 1947 in Muhlenberg County and was married to Darrell Wayne ‘Butch’ Baird on February 21, 1993.  Affectionately Known as Betty, her life was marked by her nurturing spirit, her kind heart, and her unwavering faith.

     Betty spent her final moments in Madisonville, Kentucky, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well-lived.  Professionally, Betty was known as a talented beautician, a career through which she brought beauty and confidence to countless individuals over the years.  Her skilled hands and warm conversation were as much a part of her service as the haircuts and styles she so expertly crafted.  Even after retirement, the friendships and connections she made through her work remained an important part of her life.

     Beyond her professional accomplishments, Betty was deeply involved in her community.  She attended the Christian Assembly in Madisonville, where she enjoyed fellowship with others.  Her commitment to her faith was evident in her every action and interaction, and she found great comfort and strength in her church family.

     Betty’s love extended beyond the walls of the church and into the beauty of nature.  She was an avid gardener, finding peace and purpose in the soil and sunshine.  Her garden was a testament to her patience and care, flourishing under her attentive eye.  Friends and neighbors were often the recipients of the bounty from her flower beds and vegetable patches, as well as the delicious meals she loved to cook.  Betty found joy in nurturing both people and plants, and her cooking and gardening were acts of love that fed the bodies and souls of those around her.

     In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Butch Baird, who died October 9, 2020 and by a step daughter, Dreama Baird.

     Betty is survived by a son, Tracy Arnold (Kris) of Madisonville; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

     Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Glenville Baptist Cemetery in Daviess County.  There will be no public visitation.  Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel is handling the arrangements for Betty’s family.
