Nancy S. Ellis

Nancy S. Ellis  80, of Rumsey, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.  Nancy Jo Settle was born April 8, 1937 in Rumsey, Kentucky to the late Glover Elmo and Cleva Ellis Settle.  She was a homemaker, a member of Poplar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was earlier a member of Rumsey United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading, caring for her flowers, spending time with both her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her dog, Happy.  In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Teddy Ellis.

          Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Dara and Jerrol Howard of Calhoun; two grandchildren, Darath Howard-Zuniga of Calhoun and Jerrad Howard of Cincinnati; six great grandchildren, Carlos Howard-Zuniga, Jaden Howard-Zuniga, Daria Howard-Zuniga, Triston Menhoum, Arianna Howard, and Jace Crawford; a brother and his wife, Stanley E. and Shirley Settle of Owensboro; and two nephews, Scott Settle of Owensboro and Stan Settle of Lexington.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Tab Cook and Joseph Schmuck officiating.  Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County.  Friends may visit with Nancy’s family from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

          In support of her grandson’s love for high school football, the Nancy S. Ellis family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to McLean County Football Boosters – Capital Account (for future multi-sports complex); P.O. Box 204; Calhoun, Kentucky  42327.  Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
