Mary Jane Ratliff 97, of Calhoun, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Mary Jane Malone was born June 24, 1920 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late John C. and Ethel L. Howard Malone and was married to Harlan Eugene Ratliff November 23, 1938. Mary Jane was a homemaker, the eldest member of Pleasant Hope General Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Utica. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, going out to eat, caring for her flowers, reading, and both spending time and playing cards with her friends at Park Regency in Owensboro. In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harlan E. Ratliff, who died December 7, 2002; and by two sons, Randall Ratliff, who died July 4, 2001 and David E. Ratliff, who died September 14, 2014.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Kerry Nottingham of Owensboro; a son and his wife, Larry and Nancy Ratliff of Calhoun; two daughters-in-law, Paula Ratliff of Owensboro and Willa Dean Ratliff of Livermore; four grandchildren, Randy Ratliff, Kim Buchanan, Andrea Ratliff, and Marisa Zingg; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Tracy Burnett officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery in Mclean County. Friends may visit with Mary Jane’s family from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday and from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.
